Safety on Namibian roads

Roads authority should be focused on making sure that Natis can service their customers without touching the industry of the driving schools or causing further costs to the public.

Creating campaigns that focus on reducing speed and creating more rules for everyone will not help our roads to become safer.

The main issue is not speed or alcohol although they can be contributing factors. The main issue is self respect. When a taxi bus or equivalent is passing a truck going up a hill or around a turn, they are not respecting their own life or the lives of their passengers.

Had the driver of such a vehicle considered his own life and the lives of his passenger he would not pass a truck on a blind crest or turn. He would use patience and wait until it is safe to pass. This would greatly reduce road accidents and fatalities on the road.

Government and varies road authorities should remain focused on repairing and making improvements on existing roads by making use of local contractors. They should also keep their hands from reaching for the pockets of the small businesses and divert their focus from using the countries funds to line their own pockets and increasing gov. salaries on the expense of the countries people. This will boost the economy and provide great improvement for the future.

Yours truly
